The Top Five Exotic Luxury Honeymoon Locations!

There is no holiday more meaningful and anticipated than a honeymoon. Months and even years of planning and budgeting with help from sites such as Wedding Site have flown by and now it’s time to unwind. A celebration of love, romance and marriage, honeymoons are the ultimate getaways. Since there will be no holiday so important, it is essential that newly weds pick the best, most idealistic occasions. Exotic paradise-like places are most fitting and here are the top five exotic luxury honeymoon locations.

Okavango Delta in Botswana

The great thing about Botswana’s Okavango Delta is that tourists aren’t plentiful. This means that rather than being constantly surrounded by other travelers and couples, you get to enjoy your own space and tranquility free from the outside world.

In this day and age, finding an isolated scenic resort that isn’t filled with tourists is a rarity and should be cherished, which makes Okavango Delta so special.

The lack of tourists also means that wildlife is undisturbed and abundant – always a nice touch.

The prices are high in and around the Okavango Delta, which probably explains the low tourist count but definitely a trip to remember…

There are a number of fantastic luxury tourist resorts here from the Jao Camp and Vumbura Plains Camp, to the Mombo Camp.

Huvafen Fushi in the Maldives

Now, it first must be said that this honeymoon destination only for those with a highly disposal income or the ability to save and save some more. Accommodation here can be £2000 per night. However, those with money won’t be complaining and will testify that the extortionate prices are well worth it.

The gorgeous private bungalows here are situated above turquoise waters. There are very few places more beautiful than Huvafen Fushi and the serene and heavenly scenery is ideal for honeymoons.

Trans-Siberian Railway

train in Russia

There are few things more relaxing than soaking up the sun on a pristine beach, with clear waters. However, not all of us see such holidays as the epitome of perfection and there are many who would prefer more adventure throughout their honeymoon.

The Trans-Siberian Railway experience is renowned as one of the world’s great journeys. Catering for those who wish to explore rather than relax, the Trans-Siberian line is the longest railway line in the world, connecting Moscow with the Russian Far East and Sea of Japan.

From Moscow to Beijing, the Trans-Siberian Railway journey takes you to an abundance of different great cities and regions.

Amazon Jungle Trek

Another adventurous honeymoon option is the Amazon Jungle Trek. Since romance and love are nothing short of natural wonders, being surrounded by nature on your honeymoon is always most befitting. This in turn makes trekking through the Amazon rainforest most befitting too, due to its incredible biodiversity, which constitutes the world’s largest collection of living animal and plant species.

Many of the different species that are internal to the rainforest are nothing short of fascinating.

The Amazon rainforest is a different type of paradise. It might not be as relaxing as a trip to the Maldives, however visitors can be sure to not suffer from boredom or a lack of intrigue.

The Galapagos Islands

An archipelago off the coast of Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands combine natural wonders, incredible scenery, and gorgeous weather.

The Galapagos Islands also offer some of the best scuba diving spots in the world.

Prices are again typically pricey here, which wards off many tourists, leaving the islands pretty peaceful, authentic and serene.

How to save money booking a cruise!

Celebrity Cruise

Cruising might be a spectacular way to see the world, but that doesn’t make it a cheap way to travel. Of course given the vast range of destinations you’ll get to experience, the all-inclusive dining, comfortable accommodation and top-notch facilities at your disposal, more often than not it’s fantastic value for money. Still, that’s little solace if you’re on a strict budget and your favorite cruises are stubbornly out of reach. So to help you cut the cost of cruising, here are a few tips and tricks to bear in mind.

Last minute cruise deals represent a great way to save money. Just like package holidays, cruises often work in much the same way – that is, the closer you get to the departure date, the more likely the prices are to come tumbling down. It’s not a fail-safe method but it’s well worth checking those cruises departing within the next few weeks to see if any discounts have been added. Stay flexible and be prepared to adjust your holiday criteria – including departure dates, choice of itinerary and cabin selection – to get the best deal.

Last minute cruise deals aren’t the only way to save money. Booking well in advance can be a great way to enjoy a discount, especially on newly launched holidays. Plus, booking well ahead of the departure date means you’ll get extra time to pay off the cost of your holiday, and to save some spending money too.

Whether your looking to hit some islands in the Caribbean, or cruise the Mediterranean, there are plenty of deals out there if you know where to look. Bon Voyage!

Video of the Week: Panoramic View of Panama City, Panama

\

I had the pleasure of going to Panama last year, and my trip began in none other than Panama City. It is a very interesting place where ultra-modern skyscrapers tower over the bay as well as shanty towns which seem to be built almost right on their sides. Read More »

The Top 5 Tallest Buildings in the World

Ah, the big city – the sounds, the lights, and of course, the testaments to human ingenuity at their most phallic. Being surrounded by statuesque structures is one of the most appealing aspects of living in or visiting a big city. Of course its one thing for a building to be tall, it’s quite another for it to be among the tallest (though the latter category is more interesting.) So, without further ado, here are the top 5 tallest buildings in the world!

1. Burj Khalifa – Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Tallest Building in the World

Burj Khalifa quickly earned its reputation for being the tallest man-made structure in the world – even before it opened for business. The skyscraper reached an amazing height of 2,722 ft by Jan. 17, 2009, nearly a full year before the official opening on Jan. 4, 2010. Burj Khalifa wiped out the reign of Poland’s 2,120 ft. Warsaw radio mast, which held the world record for 17 years (1974-1991.) The bottom 39 floors of the mixed-use building feature the chic Armani hotel. Read More »

The Benefits of Having a Home Base as a Travel Blogger

Art Deco Buildings on Ocean Drive

The older I get, and the more I travel, the more I appreciate having somewhere I can always come back to (that’s not my parent’s apt). While the “liberating” feeling of only owning a laptop, small suit case and some shit clothes from Target is cool for a while, but, it starts to get old and in reality, having a few roots or material things (in moderation) ain’t so bad.

Post college, I really wanted to strip myself of all things tangible (my clothes especially)((I mean literally…I didn’t have that many clothes))(((I wanted to have as much sex as possible post a dumb break up))). What did I need a car for? Why did I need all the latest tech crap? All I wanted to do was travel as much as possible with no tie-downs holding me back. Raw freedom.

Well, that was definitely cool for a while even though I never completely succeeded, but nowadays, I appreciate (and accept) having my condo to come back to, just the way I left it. It’s not overdone, but it has the stuff I like when I’m around. A decent sized TV, HD DVR, good Wi-Fi, a firm queen size bed and a life I can pick up and start again right away.

Did I mention that my home base is also in Miami? I think this plays a huge role in why I have a home base in the first place. If I had to go back to Saint Louis or Baltimore in winter every time I came back from an  amazing trip, I’d probably stay nomadic forever. Good weather is paramount for me, it’s reviving. Anytime I get back to sunny South Florida, I can really get my life straight again as I’m in a good mood, the days are long and warm, and life is good. Also helps that I don’t need to waste my time (and money) on all-inclusive family resorts when I have them right outside my door. Coming home almost feels like I’m getting to go on holiday again before even finishing the one I’m on!

I think a semi-nomadic life is the way to go for getting things done work wise as well, as while you can definitely work these days remotely (as I do when on the road), having your own space, a routine, and serious objectives can help you not lose time in the long run (as in your life) and not end up like that 40 year old vagabond with nothing to his name besides his rucksack. You don’t want to be that guy!
