How to Bring Romance Back into Your Relationship

No matter how romantic a person you are, over time your romantic relationship can lose some of its steam. This doesn’t necessarily mean that your relationship is in trouble or that you love each other any less, only that the spontaneity and excitement that was a near-daily part of your relationship has been replaced with repetition and responsibilities.

Perhaps job requirements have increased and maybe there are kids around who certainly don’t increase your desire for romance, or maybe you just failed to notice until you see a couple who are romantic with each other and then it hits you that this part of your relationship has gone dormant. Whatever the situation is that created the realization, you need to take it seriously and you need to do some things now. Here are two things that you can do put a spark back in your relationship.

Book a Romantic Weekend Getaway

Because of our busy schedules, most of us have a really difficult time getting away on a long vacation. These types of excursions take lots of planning, a good deal of money, and coordination with your spouse and the rest of your family on where you actually going to go. So suggesting that you take a long romantic vacation will probably only add more stress to your situation.

Instead, how about you book a romantic weekend break with your significant other. The UK offers great romantic weekend packages that will fit within your budget and deliver a weekend worth of love to the two of you. Each of the getaway destinations are beautiful and many are in older classic homes and estates located in the country, near beautiful forests and rivers, and even along the shore. The weekends are inclusive of everything you need to turn on the romance.

In addition to a romantic setting you can also order in advance champagne, chocolates, and any other specific food you want delivered to your room. You can also have breakfast in bed, in the garden, or by the pool. You can even choose to never leave your room the entire weekend and decide together how to rekindle your low burning flame together. A UK romantic weekend getaway is the perfect choice to bring some romance back to your relationship.

Send a Surprise Naughty Gift

If you’ve never sent or a naughty gift to someone you are romantically involved with, then you don’t have any idea of the potential response. There’s something about a person buying and sending sexy underwear, toys, or even handcuffs that can really get a person’s juices flowing. Perhaps it’s the thought that your significant other went through all the trouble to locate and then purchase the garment or toy, or perhaps it just brings back memories of a more exciting past. Whatever the reason, the result is that sparks will usually begin to fly again. To spice things up even more, send the gift to your significant other anonymously and don’t let them know that it was you until the two of you are alone at night.

Remember that the most important part about creating sparks in your the mental part so whether it’s a weekend getaway or a sexy surprise naughty gift don’t downplay the mental aspects of your efforts  Build up anticipation and drama and make things as mysterious as possible. This adds to the excitement and romance.

If you choose either or both of these ideas on a regular basis, you are sure to be back to the same romantic level but you are at when you first met.

Destinations Which You’ll See On a Baltic Cruise

Cruises have long been my favorite type of vacation and throughout the years I have been fortunate enough to see much of the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and Scandinavia through a variety of cruise packages. Last year my husband and I decided to shake things up a little bit so we decided to take a Baltic cruise. I must say that despite a little but of apprehension beforehand, it actually turned out to be one of the best trips that I have ever taken. A Baltic cruise is not something that everyone knows too much about, so I wanted to talk a little on here about what destinations you can expect to find, If you decide to treat yourself to a Baltic cruise holiday.

St.Petersburg, Russia

During the cruise we had an overnight stay in the wonderful city of St Petersburg which offers a great insight into imperial Russia and the buildings and culture which shaped it. This was probably my favorite destination during the cruise as there was something new to discover around every corner, from the spot where Rasputin was poisoned to the intricate Yusupov Palace there is plenty here to enjoy. If you happen to arrive during May or June a real treat awaits you in the shape of the White Nights, which are the evenings when the sun doesn’t set, and festivities take place throughout the city.

Helsinki, Iceland

Helsinki was somewhere that had been on my list of places to visit for a very long time and it was actually one of the motivating factors in taking this cruise in particular. Helsinki is a colorful and vibrant capital which is absolutely packed with art and design. The Icelandic capital is widely considered to be one of the most forward thinking cities in the world in terms of innovation, something which can be witnessed in the architecture, the art installations which adorn the streets, as well as in the charming and eye-opening art galleries such as the Anteneum

Stockholm, Sweden

The Scandinavian cruise which we took in the 90s didn’t actually stop in Stockholm, so we were pleasantly surprised to find that our Baltic cruise would take in the Swedish capital. Something which I wasn’t aware of was that Stockholm is actually a collection of 14 islands. The fact that the city is an archipelago means that there is a real outdoors feel to the city, resulting in busy streets and at times, a touch of chaos. The city is colorful and still looks much like it has done for centuries, with cobbled streets, ancient walls, old squares and traditional boats all around. We only had a day in Stockholm as part of our cruise, probably not a bad idea given the high price of just about everything in the city!

These were my top 3 places on the cruise but you can also expect to see these other wonderful European destinations;

  • Estonia
  • Norway
  • Finland
  • Poland
  • Denmark

If you are looking for a cruise which offers something a little different, this is the perfect choice.

Comparing Vehicles for a Road Trip

America was made for the open road. In fact, quality interstate highways are one of the often overlooked advantages of the continental 48. These Eisenhower highways connect every corner of the continental United States with smooth, wide, well-kept pavement. The roads are suitable for just about every vehicle, so take advantage of the nice weather, jump in your favorite mode of transportation and hit the high-quality highways to see the beauty that is America.

Motorcycle Road Trip

Motorcycles allow you to see everything. You’re not unobstructed by windows, doors and other passengers. It’s just you, the fresh air and the natural beauty that surrounds you. This instantly makes riding a motorcycle one of the best ways to see the country.

The freedom of a motorcycle has its tradeoffs, mainly in the form of reduced safety. Even cheap motorcycle insurance costs more for an individual than a policy covering a sedan would, due to the increased risk of accidents occurring when riding one. There’s also the issue of reduced storage space, as well as the exposure to the elements.

Make sure to do a little homework before ripping your hog down the highway. Some states have helmet laws while others do not, so make sure to tote bring your DOT-approved helmet. You’ll also have to schedule plenty of breaks and keep a keen eye on the weather, as wet roads are especially dangerous for motorcycles.

Car Road Trip

You’ll have to decide right off the bat which is the best car for a road trip. Do you plan on going off road? You’ll need an SUV with four-wheel-drive. Are you driving clear across the country and need to save some money? An economy car will do just fine. Or are you loading up all your friends with plenty of gear? Perhaps you’ll need a station wagon? Whichever type of automobile you pick, it will likely be less thrilling than a motorcycle but also more safe and secure.

Ask around to see if your friends have the right vehicle, but you may be forced to rent a car for the trip. This will cost a bit of money, but don’t despair. You can make it a one-way road trip with a suv car hire Tasmania. Drive the rental from one city to your destination to fly back home. Simply drop the rental car off at the airport. This allows you to see the country while saving time. You’ll be forced to make an out-and-back trip with a car you own.

Campervan or Motorhome

If used frequently, campervans and motorhomes can save you time and money in the long-run. After all, you just rock up to points of interest to sleep for the night. You don’t have to be hassled with pitching a tent or finding a hotel. While they seem intimidating at first-glance, driving a motorhome quickly becomes second-nature much like ordinary driving did when you were a teenager. So before heading out on your travels, it’s definitely worth getting used to driving the vehicle first to be on the safe side! Also, depending on what road trip you’re going on you’ll need the necessities such as food, clothing, chargers for devices, and rv internet for those late-night movies.

However, you should consider the cost of a motorhome. Class-A motorhome prices start at about $50,000 and go up into the millions, depending on all the bells and whistles attached. Furthermore. in order to get the most out of a motorhome or RV, regular maintenance must be undertaken.

The most beautiful parts of America are all connected by highway. Grab a friend or two, plan a route and hit the road for the trip of a lifetime. Just make sure to choose your mode of transportation wisely.

3 Engaging Outdoor Activities To Consider This Fall

While everyone enjoys the summertime and the ample opportunities it offers to get outdoors and exercise, the truth is that sometimes the heat, humidity, and smog can be too much. Now that fall weather is around the corner, many people are getting excited about the new opportunities to get out into the great outdoors and experience the changing of the season. Below are three of our favourite fall activities to get you outside.

Go Apple Picking

Why not channel your inner Robert Frost and get out to the orchard to do some good old-fashioned apple-picking? What could possibly be better than candy apples, apple crumble, and apple pie made with fresh, crisp apples you just picked yourself. Wherever you live, there are a number of orchards not far away, and if you’re bringing the kids, many orchards also offer a host of additional Family Activities, such as wagon rides, country fresh markets, and even petting zoos to help take in the experience. Be sure to bundle up — especially in October and November. Wear layers, so that you can remove them one at a time, as needed, and consider thermal underpants (also called Long Johns) or maybe get yourself a pair of dependable thermal socks (available online through retailers such as Heat Holders and others)!

Haunted Walks, Houses, and Mazes

Nothing says autumn like ghosts and goblins, and everyone knows that this is the perfect time to enjoy a haunted walk, haunted house or a haunted maze. Thrill seekers can enjoy any number of haunted attractions, and many of them are closer than you might think. If there is an amusement park in your town, chances are good that there are many haunted house options and maybe even if you’re lucky a haunted maze. This is perfect for a date night.

If you want to learn as you burn (calories, that is), consider a haunted walk tour. If you live in the Great White North, consider Toronto’s original Haunted Walk, where you will hear spine-tingling tales from the earliest days of the city that include haunted theatres, unsolved murders, hangings, and other terrifying encounters. You’ll enjoy learning about the old military town of York and how it became the metropolitan city of today. Book your spot to this popular haunted tour quickly, however, because it fills up fast.

If you live in the Big Apple, satisfy your inner horror fan with Sidewalk, the free app that will help you navigate through many of New York’s most hair-raising neighbourhoods. Thanks to GPS technology, combined with vivid storytelling and a rich atmosphere, you can explore 400 years of dastardly deeds as sidewalk guide Damien takes you through the sinister history of Greenwich’s haunted taverns, spooky churches, and public parks that have been unearthed by undead hordes.

Consider a Brisk Hike

Everyone loves a good hike, and in the autumn many cold climate areas of North America are awash in reds, yellows, and oranges of the season, and it’s usually quite a sight. Enjoy the fall colours at a park close to home or take a quick drive from the city to a beautiful nearby hiking trail.

Hiking is a great way to meet your fitness goals, and one hour of trekking alone can burn well over 500 calories, depending on the pack you’re carrying and the incline you’re walking. Hiking doesn’t just increase fitness, but overall well-being. Hiking is a social activity, and a regular weekend meet up with friends can help you forge bonds while you get fit. Interaction with a larger hiking community also encourages you to treat your workout as a lifestyle, and not simply a chore. This will make you stick with the regimen for the long haul.

If you want to get out this fall, consider one of these activities to help make the most of the season — after all, you don’t need sunshine and hot weather to enjoy the great outdoors.

5 Reasons Why Prague Should Be Your Next Weekend Break Destination

We are very blessed in Europe that we have so many wonderful cities within close proximity of each other, with cheap and regular transport links from around Europe. Over the years I have tried to go to as many of these classic European cities as possible, and one which I have returned to more than 4 times, is the Czech capital of Prague. There is so much to love about this city and so much to explore within its walls, in fact its fair to say that I generally find something new each time that I go. If you haven’t been to Prague yet, here are just 5 reasons why you need to make it the destination for your next weekend break.

History

For history lovers, Prague is a wonderful city to visit and explore with all of the trappings that a classic, and old European city should have. Here you will find the largest castle complex in the world, with over 70,000 square meters of castles, turrets and outhouses. Furthermore Prague was fortunate not to be heavily damaged after the two World Wars, which means that the majority of its historical architecture, plus gothic and baroque installations are still in place.

Nightlife

You can get a really good read of a city once the sun goes down, and in my view this is when Prague really comes to life. The nightlife Prague offers is very varied and suits just about every type of traveler. For example you could relax in the old town with a fine wine and watch the people passing by, you could go to see world-famous DJs in a number of lively nightclubs, or alternatively take tours throughout the city, which glows at night.

The Bridge

The Charles Bridge has been standing over the Vltava river now since 1402, it has survived the Thirty Years war and even floods, yet it still stands tall as one of Europe’s oldest bridges. This is without doubt the best place in the city to do so people watching, and on an evening the vendors come out selling local food and knick-knacks. Whether snapping a shot from afar, or standing on top of it, this is a truly iconic bridge which you mustn’t miss out on.

Cost

A huge draw to coming to Prague is the low cost of just about everything that you may wish to see and do, making it one of Europe’s cheapest cities. Whether you are buying food in a restaurant or beers in a bar, the cost will blow you away, and what is more, the quality is not diminished because often low price, service and the products are very good indeed.

Beer

This is the beer capital of the world and there is more of the fizzy stuff drunk here than anywhere else in Europe. Throughout the city there are several specialized beer bars, which offer hundreds of beers, both international and domestic, after all, it would be rude not to partake in tradition during your time here.

I could go on and on, but the best way to find out how great Prague is, will be to head there on your next break.
