Best Time To Visit New Caledonia

View from the beach in New Caledonia

In order to determine the best time to visit New Caledonia, one must be very conscious of the two aspects of time. The first idea means knowing the ideal climate of the year.
The seasons in New Caledonia are so simple. One just has to take into account whether the vacationer prefers the environment hot or cool. This pretty much narrows one’s measurement when it comes to the season and basic weather forecast.

The next issue worth exploring when it comes to the subject of time includes the interesting holidays and festivals in the country. As far as the question of “when” is concerned, this aspect answers the specific question. Important holidays not only cater to the personal interest of the traveler.

These important events also help visitors understand the general character of their hosts and virtually narrate the story of who New Caledonians are as a nation. One may find New Caledonians as interesting as their lush and picturesque topography.

1. Bastille Day

The Bastille Day is one celebration that pretty much explains the national or cultural identity of the New Caledonians. The Bastille Day is also called the French National Day, and it is commemorated every 14th of July each year. This is a very important event for the French people not only in France but also in other former colonies like Nova Scotia, St. Helena, and New Caledonia. It celebrates the day the common people stood up against the aristocrats and stormed the Bastille Fortress. With the forces of democracy taking over the seat of the royal authority in France, the French Revolution became a successful (though costly) civil war in the history of the French people.

2. Christmas Day

Despite the French Revolution successfully stomping at the religious authorities of the old times, the French people around the world did not officially remove Christianity. Whether one belongs to Catholicism, Protestantism and even Gnosticism; Christianity as a universal faith is pretty much a part of the French identity and it shaped their collective sense of spirituality for centuries even until this day. December 25 remains to be the most important religious event in New Caledonia, as it celebrates the birthday of Jesus Christ.

3. Mid-November to Mid-April

These months could be the best time to visit New Caledonia for some people because it marks the hot season in the basic weather forecast. Anyone who loves to visit the beach makes summer a ubiquitous climate. The beaches in New Caledonia are spectacular and almost unlike anything one may expect in tropical environments. It might be peak tourist season but it is also the time where cyclones highly occur.

4. June to August

Cool season may not be the best time to visit New Caledonia for beach goers, but it is the best time to be around for mountain climbers and hikers. The cold season is very ideal for outdoor adventure because the lush inland provides more cover for low temperature winds. Moreover, the geography inland is simply stunning.

The Best Time to Visit Guam

It would be advantageous for one to know the best time to visit Guam in order to have a decent holiday in this part of the world. It is interesting to take note that this country is related to Philippines in two ways. Geography-wise, they share a very close proximity though they are both from a completely different world demarcation (Philippines in Southeast Asia while Guam in Micronesia). Another common denominator that both these countries share is history. They were both ruled by the Spaniards and Americans. Guam is a fairly decent tourist destination for those seeking to enjoy a tropical island holiday. But one can always have a distinct advantage when he or she understands the value of the calendar. Dates serve two purposes: it tells the season variation as well as the important events in the country. These factors highly affect one’s vacation experience in this distant unincorporated US territory.

Top reasons to go diving in Lanzarote

Whether you have never been diving before and are in need of some lessons or are a seasoned pro, diving in Lanzarote is the place to be. It is widely considered to offer some of the best diving in the whole of the northern hemisphere.

The options are endless, with excursions from the shore and boat diving both possible, a plethora of schools to choose from and so many different sites to explore. An underwater paradise is just waiting to be found.

Book an all inclusive break – such as these – in order to keep costs down and allow you to fuel up at the beginning and end of each day’s diving. This will help to maximise your time in the water. Still not convinced that diving in Lanzarote is for you? Here are the top reasons why it might just be.

fish in Lanzarote

Fish

One of the main things that most people want to see when they are diving is fish. Since the waters around Lanzarote are home to some 500 species of fish you will certainly not be disappointed by the selection. On any one dive you will be surrounded by fish of every size, shape and colour imaginable.

These are likely to include barracudas, groupers, rays and angelsharks, as these fine specimens all live in this underwater world. For a really special experience head to the tiny island of Los Lobos, located between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. This is the neighbourhood of the hammerhead shark and close encounters with this legend of the sea will make for wonderful holiday memories.

Favourable conditions

Visibility when diving in Lanzarote tends to be very good with a length of ten to 30 metres usually clear in front of you. The water temperature varies between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius, making it particularly comfortable and the weather on the surface is moderate. It is unlikely to fall below 16 degrees in winter or exceed 25 degrees in the summer months.

Amazing dive sites

Whether you prefer caves, wrecks or reefs, there are so many dive sites that you will not get bored during your holidays to Lanzarote. In fact you may find yourself coming back time and again to explore further.

The most famous dive site off Lanzarote is known as the Cathedral and is a big underwater cave, whose walls are covered in soft coral. From the Cathedral there is no view of the surface, but you can see shrimp, finger coral and glass fish within it.

The Cathedral can be reached from Playa de la Barrilla and requires divers to descend 14 metres below the surface. Bring a torch in order to explore the darkest depths of the cave and find the most unusual creatures.

Alternatively head to the marine conservation site of Los Erizos where you will find good wreck diving. Pinfish, Turkish wrasse, emperor fish, sardines, arrow crabs,  groupers, barracudas, rays, tuna and angelsharks can all be found here. As each dive is different the selection you see will vary every time.

Punta Tinosa is a dive site like no other you are likely to have seen before. This reef to the south of Puerto del Carmen was created when lava flowed into the sea and solidified there. As well as the amazing contours of the rock, divers also get to see many types of fish that frequent this stretch of water.

As you can see, from family holidays to Lanzarote, or just a solo sojourn, this amazing island has more than enough to offer anyone lucky enough to visit.

Is it Really Possible to Save on Hotel Bookings Using Incognito Mode in Your Browser?

You may have heard of using incognito mode to save money on hotel bookings and wondered if it’s really possible. The simple answer is, “Yes.” Hotel booking websites use your cookies to see how many times you check pricing on hotels to raise their prices each time you check. They do this so you will think the price is going up and that the rooms are being booked, so that you feel the urgency to book a room. In a way, this is punishing you for trying to get a good deal, but if you use incognito mode, the hotel booking websites will not know how many times you checked their site previously, so you can get the best rates.
